The book club is a well-adjusted phenomenon. Its fans range from the “never ever have I” … read a book, to the YouTube influencer, Instagram socialites, bourgeois, and intellects.
After analyzing to death the plot and characters of their latest read, book clubs often dissolve into not so secret wine clubs, and real-life gossip forums. Members leave having reached their alcohol and socializing maximum looking forward to the solitude of their next read. However, in today’s high tech world, it seems the sofa has been confiscated by the Netflix bingers and gamers, so book lovers everywhere are now taking to the streets in hoards of rioting masses to reclaim their sofas. #fakenews. Okay, so maybe that’s not true and book lovers aren’t trying to burn every TV in sight to a crisp, but they are looking for a safe haven to flip their pages in.
This is where the architects and contractors come in to save the day with the modern window nook. Not every window in our homes are designed with reading in mind, but that can easily be changed with some flare and creativity. The windows nooks below are great examples of creativity at work and thanks to Oprah, I can happily yell, “You get a window, you get a window, everyone gets window!”
Okay, Now, onto the windows.
A house without books is like a room without windows. – Horace Mann
Stop looking at walls, look out the window. – Karl Pilkington
As they say, if you can’t beat them join them, and books lover have. Just like the TV watchers and gamers, they now have their own devices and apps from the Kindle, Kobo, to Audible – all of which can can be enjoyed from a lovely window nook.
